Samsung has the entire racetrack to itself. Everything else is so far behind, it’s reminiscent of the dominant victories that Michael Schumacher and Mika Haakkenen pulled out of the hat repeatedly in the past years of Formula 1 racing. It may feel like yesterday when Samsung, of course, had to fix the first generation flip phone, credit where it’s due, but you’ll soon realize that a long time has passed. Since then, the company’s product lines have included not one, but two very different foldable phone pieces. Competitors? Sporadic competition in the case of this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, as the Motorola Razr 5G still clings to the past with great hope. Something that is also reflected in the spec sheet in some ways. The thing is, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has practically made it a thing of the past again.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Review: A Smarter Foldable
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is sold in India in two variants. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option is priced at Rs 84,999, while the 8GB+256GB configuration is priced at Rs 88,999. The Motorola Razr 5G, which was updated last year and hasn’t been heard from since then, started at Rs 1,49,999, which was soon revised to Rs 89,999 when we last heard about it. It also doesn’t compare on the spec sheet. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has a larger display (6.7 inches vs. 6.2 inches), a higher resolution (2640×1080 pixels vs. 2142×876 pixels), a new and more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor (the Moto Razr 5G runs). Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip), newer Android and a bigger battery. So there’s no point, right?
You have to spend less money than the big and absolutely stunning Galaxy Z Fold3 5G to get into the fold. Second, this form factor may be more convenient for a wider demographic of potential buyers. You don’t always have to be hands-free to use your phone (Image: Vishal Mathur / )
I already said that this is the most affordable folding smartphone. First, the price tag. That’s less spending money to get into the folding space than the big and absolutely gorgeous Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G requires. Second, this form factor may be more convenient for a wider demographic of potential buyers. You don’t always have to be hands-free to use your phone. And finally, the pocket size can unsurprisingly be a cross-gender hit. In a way, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is probably the best choice for anyone who wants to spend the price of an Android flagship smartphone and get the added pleasure of getting a flip phone rather than a traditional Galaxy S series smartphone or any other. another android phone..
In its third generation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has also made a serious improvement in durability. The foldable screen is Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass, which, with the addition of a panel layer and protective film, now claims to be 80% stronger than before. Like its siblings, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G also gets the new Armor Aluminum, the strongest aluminum composition Samsung has ever used in its phones. Water resistance is IPX8. Then there’s a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back (non-aluminum parts only) that adds another layer of rigidity. Many similarities are also carried over from the first, such as the overall footprint and design of the hinge, although Samsung says that the inside of the hinge has been treated differently for the latter to ensure longevity. What hasn’t changed is that you still won’t be able to open it with one hand, and you have to accept that resistance because it’s better for the life of the foldable phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip And Fold
Open it up and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G looks and feels like any Android flagship phone. But in comparison, it can be a few millimeters longer. The flexible line is not visible on the display and hides well. It feels very nice in the hand, and you should be prepared for any preconceived notions about thin foldable phones to disappear within hours, if not days. At the moment, your choice is between the Cream and Phantom Black options – and the one shown here is the latter color option, which I think looks really good in darker shades.

Dual screens for foldable phones is a very Samsung way of doing things. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has a utilitarian cover screen and, of course, a larger folding screen. The cover screen has grown over time and is now a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED. Well placed so you can quickly see new notifications, and swipe through a bunch of widgets for quick access to things like music. It can also be a viewfinder for selfies, allowing for a dual camera setup on the back.
However, you’ll probably get more done with the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G’s 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable screen. It’s just that good. Tick what you want, it’s a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and 1200 nits peak brightness. It’s brighter and smoother than its predecessor, and doesn’t lose what you’d normally expect from a Samsung flagship phone display – really vibrant colors and deep blacks. The screen protector has been changed and it also feels a little different than before, in that it feels smoother with less resistance to finger movements. Please note that do not proceed with removing this factory installed shield as Samsung definitely does not recommend it.

You’re probably asking this—does your finger feel the crease in the center of this display while you’re using it? The thing is, your finger will feel it, but more often than not, your eyes won’t. Unless what you’re watching has a really dark undertone. The folding folds of the phone never bother you when you use the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, matching its sibling the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. In terms of performance, it’s on par with the latest flagship Android phones that are otherwise competing for your attention. We were so spoiled that this clarification is necessary – the 8GB of RAM on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is definitely more than enough, and I didn’t notice the phone slowing down or feeling the strain of multitasking at any point during the testing process. The dual 3300 mAh battery isn’t the biggest, and you’ll soon realize that. However, this is not an inconvenience, because even with heavy use of applications and a few shots, it easily lasts a day on a single charge, and if it is connected to the charger, the battery will still have 12% left. But that’s it, it will last a day on a single charge.
The cameras are where Samsung has made the least effort, making significant improvements with this year’s foldable phones. Like the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G largely retains the same camera hardware as last year’s phones. These cameras are still good. very well actually. Just don’t expect them to be great. If cameras are your main requirement for the latest and greatest photo and video experience, you might want to check out the latest Galaxy S21 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G will give you consistent value with eye-pleasing images and colors, good dynamic range and generous details. This might be one of the few phones that says megapixels don’t always matter. That may very well be true.
