Salmon Recipes Baked Garlic Lemon

Salmon Recipes Baked Garlic Lemon – Sheet pan dishes, tray ovens, and egg casserole dishes are incredibly easy. Especially when cooking salmon! We do our best to bring salmon to our table at least once or twice a week, and since the family always asks for salmon, I have to come up with new flavors all the time!

Is there a better flavor combination? This combination came to me from our Facebook followers who requested it instead of honey in this Honey Garlic Salmon video! Really, WHO DOESN’T WANT HONEY ON SALMON? Seems like a lot of people.

I have to say, I feel incredibly lucky that both of my children enjoy fish as much as they do. And not just as Baked Fish Fries, aka homemade fish fingers! He loves fish in almost every form, so we eat it for dinner at least a couple of times a month.

This is one of my favorite ways to make salmon (or most fish—very similar to my Garlic Butter Lemon Baked Cod!). Easy, fast and very useful to have in your backpack on those super busy weeknights!

Baked Salmon with Lemon Garlic Butter Ingredients for Salmon: Salmon fillet, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasonings, and butter.

The side of salmon tends to be 5-10 minutes extra compared to fillet. However, the exact cooking time depends on the thickness of your salmon.

I love the taste of Italian herbs in this recipe, but feel free to switch to your taste. Parsley or dill is also very tasty!

Baked Lemon Pepper Salmon

Butter creates rich and flavorful juices to serve over salmon. If you need the recipe to be dairy-free, feel free to use a dairy-free butter or drizzle more olive oil over the fish.

Place the salmon on the greaseproof foil. It’s good if the fish are close together, just don’t let them overlap!

2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic and spices. It will form a putty-like hill.

It works, although it’s not my favorite, and it tends to cook it outside until it’s done in the middle.

Lemon, Garlic & Herb Baked Salmon

But have you ever forgotten to take meat or fish out of the freezer for dinner? Yes me too.

Cooking frozen salmon can be an absolute lifesaver for those “oops” moments. Just follow the recipe. Cooking salmon frozen takes about twice as long as thawed or fresh.

I hate to be so vague, but the exact cooking temperature is highly dependent on the exact size and thickness of your salmon fillet.

It’s generally safe to say that it takes about 15 minutes to cook a salmon fillet in the oven at 400°F.

A whole side of salmon may take a little longer, and small fillets can be done near the 10-minute mark. You can tell when the fish is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork. To be sure, check the core temperature in the thick part with an instant-read thermometer.

The USDA recommends cooking salmon to an internal temperature of at least 145°F for safe consumption. You can see the entire table here.

I recommend getting an instant-read thermometer, I love using mine and never have to worry about undercooked or overcooked food ever again. You can get one from Amazon here (FYI, this is an affiliate link and I get a commission on purchases made after you click).

We love this salmon with vegetables and starch on the side. Grilled baby potatoes, mashed potatoes, or rice are starchy favorites to go with this recipe.

Best Garlic Parmesan Salmon Recipe

As a vegetable, we often make a simple side of spinach salad, roasted asparagus (if in season), refried green beans, or roasted broccoli.

If I’m feeling incredibly lazy, I throw some sliced zucchini, peppers and onions on a plate, sprinkle it with olive oil, season it with salt and herbs, and put the salmon next to it so that everything cooks in the oven at the same time 😉
