The biggest free agency move for the Sacramento Kings front office this summer was signing center Rishaun Holmes to a four-year, $55 million contract.

Given the opportunity to flourish in Sacramento, Holmes left the #TrustTheProcess Sixers in 2015 for one season in the G League and the Phoenix Suns for the start of the 2019 season.

Holmes At Last • Richaun Holmes’ Journey To A Breakout Season In Sacramento

Last season in Sacramento, Holmes posted career highs in points per game (14.2) and boards per game (8.3). Holmes has been the Kings’ most consistent player all season.

Despite a dismal year on defense for the team as a whole, Holmes has been consistent on defense. According to InStat, Holmes held defensemen to the league’s lowest isolation rate of 27.3% in the 2020-21 season.

With the addition of Davion Mitchell, I think Sacramento has the potential to have a strong defensive line, which would be a big step up from last season.

At 27, it’s time for Holmes to maximize his potential. He had 21 double-doubles in 61 games last season. If that number goes up to a third and a half, I’d be happy with Holmes’ development.

Richaun Holmes Looks To Bounce Back In New Role With Kings

While I don’t think that will happen, it’s easy to look at his early career and see where the success and development for the big man has been lacking. Sacramento has gone from a lack of centers to an abundance of options at the five position. Holmes is obviously the starter for the Kings, but I’d hate to see him lose his development trying to keep other players in the rotation.

The past two seasons have had nights that have turned into serious problems, and Holmes has seen the bench early. Next season, I’d like to see if Holmes can blow the whistle while also being productive.

Overall, it’s a big win for both Sacramento and Holmes to have him back on the roster. I’m excited to see the work he did over the summer and what he can continue to bring to a growing Sacramento team. Sacramento Kings center Richaun Holmes was granted full custody of his son on April 21, according to court documents obtained by The Kings Beat. His attorneys, Steve Haney and Ann Moder, confirmed the Sacramento Bee’s report to Jason Anderson on Tuesday:

Ways Richaun Holmes Changes The Sacramento Kings

According to documents obtained by The Sacramento Bee, Holmes was reunited with her son last week when a Georgia judge ordered the boy’s mother, Alexis Holmes, to relinquish the child after violating a recent Los Angeles County custody order. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Alexandra Manning denied Alexis Holmes’ request for a temporary protective order, warning him for “attempting to evade an arrest warrant issued by the Los Angeles County Superior Court.”

Richaun Holmes sat out the Kings’ final 11 games of the regular season for what the team called “personal reasons.” Holmes was later charged with domestic violence and reportedly served with a restraining order.

Alexis Holmes plans to appeal the verdict. She also paid a $3,000 fine for failing to surrender her son on April 22, the day after the court ruled in Richon Holmes’ favor.

Richaun Holmes, 28, is currently under contract with the Kings through at least 2024, when he has a player option for the 2024-25 season. Kings’ Richaun Holmes Warranting Elite Nba Center Discussion

Sacramento Kings forward Richaun Holmes was ejected after picking up his second technical foul with 9:49 left in the third quarter of the New Orleans Pelicans’ 112-99 win at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.

A technical foul was called after Holmes picked up his fourth personal foul of the game. Like many players, Holmes disliked refereeing the game.

Being the passionate and emotional player that he is, Holmes couldn’t just go quietly. On his way to the bench, he angrily ripped off his headband and threw it into the crowd, prompting official Tony Brats to eject him from the game.

Journey Continues For Bgsu’s Richaun Holmes In The Pit

On Thursday, NBA president Byron Spruell announced that the league would fine Holmes $15,000 for the incident.

While some may find it a bit dramatic, the league is known to play better when the players don’t act in a way that reflects the image they want to uphold. The fine may be due in part to Holmes’ interactions with fans during the pandemic. The league has been very strict about how it deals with COVID-19 and has no qualms about punishing a player who oversteps its bounds.

Fortunately, that won’t keep Holmes out of the game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, Nov. 5 at Golden 1 Center. Holmes plays a huge role in the team and will be needed to secure the next victory for the Kings. Rishaun Diante Holmes (born October 15, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Bowling Green Falcons, where he was named to multiple Mid-American Conference teams.

Holmes previously played with the 76ers for 3 seasons before being traded to the Suns in the 2018 offseason. He played one season with the Suns before signing with the Kings in 2019.

In high school, Holmes grew from a 6’2″ guard to a 6’9″ forward, but he didn’t receive any Division I college basketball scholarship offers until he committed to play at Moraine Valley Community College.

In one season at Moraine Valley, Holmes averaged 19.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.2 blocks per game.

In his second season at Bowling Green, Holmes averaged 6.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He doubled his scoring average as a junior with 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. While hiring coach Chris Jans, Holmes worked to improve all aspects of his game and add to his three-point shooting, sometimes hitting 1,000 shots a day in practice. The result was averages of 14.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game and a 56.3% field goal percentage and 41.9% three-point shooting percentage. In Holmes’ senior year, the Bowling Gray improved from last year’s 12-win season to 21-12, while also winning the CollegeInsider.com Tournamt.
