Some apparently broke people argue that donuts are too sweet, which gives you too much air donuts. Meanwhile, the donuts were claimed to be too thick and dry. Whichever side you’re on, there’s no question what this crisp cream is.
You certainly can! If you don’t fry or don’t have the necessary equipment, it comes out well in the oven.
If you want a free cut, use an equal amount of neutral vegetable oil such as canola instead.

Unfortunately, these little powders lose their appeal if they are not eaten fresh. Frying to this day is part of the appeal! So while I don’t recommend storing these cooked foods, luckily for us, uncooked cakes can be saved for future use!
You can keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 days if stored in an airtight container. Just take it out of the fridge and let the temperature return before frying, you never want to add cold flour to the pan.
Make donuts and arrange them raw on a baking sheet, put them in the fridge and after freezing put them in an airtight container or freezer. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Let it freeze on the table before frying!

It takes some trial and error to get this donut to taste like true Krispy Kreme. Normally, I would make my donut with butter in the dough, but to nail this copycat recipe, I switched it out to shorten it. After another round of testing (my job is hard!) I think it’s still lacking
Instead of frying it in oil, Krispy Kreme donut recipe should be fried in Crisco. Sure, if you don’t have Crisco on hand, you can use oil, but if you really want the classic Krispy Kreme flavor, you’ll want to use Crisco.
Every bite of this Krispy Kreme donut recipe will fill your mouth with yeast doughnuts. Like the cakes in the store, these donuts are best when they are still a little warm.. Yes, your fingers may be a little sticky from the glass, but they are totally worth it!
Be honest. The other part of what makes these donuts completely irresistible is the glaze. This Krispy Kreme donut recipe is very easy to make. It’s really sweet, but not too much. When combined with a yeast donut, air donut, glaze gives sweetness and taste.

Additionally, the Krispy Kreme donut recipe only has three simple ingredients: sugar, milk, and light corn syrup. Be sure to get a light type, as dark syrup will make this glaze taste completely different from the original!
The best way I’ve found to properly glaze these donuts is to put the glaze in a shallow bowl. Once the donuts have come out of the oven and cooled enough that the glaze won’t just slide out, you can use your tongue to dip half of the donuts into the glaze. Turn it over and let it sit on a cooler for a few minutes before enjoying!

Six years ago, when we moved to North County San Diego, there was a Krispy Kreme donut shop less than a mile from our home. It’s amazing! When the “Hot Donuts Now” sign is lit, we’ll skip the shortcut and grab a box (or two). And on weekend mornings…we’ll stop in for their special $1.99 two donuts and a cup of coffee (which my husband loves – sweet and cheap). Soon the place unexpectedly closed (I don’t know why, they were always busy, always full). I still remember my husband when we pulled into the parking lot and knew it was out of business…
To get our Krispy Kreme fixes these days, we have to wait until we go up to Orange County and stop at the Krispy Kreme in Mission Viejo on the way home less often. So we basically never eat donuts again.
A few days ago my husband was reminiscing (or crying – whatever you want to call it) about how he missed the Krispy Kreme we used to have in our town. Since I finished my soft bread recipes, including Japanese An (Red Bean Buns), Cream Pan (Custard Buns), Pineapple Buns/Melon Pan, and Coconut Milk Bread… I think donuts should be easy. Because the dough is similar.
Air Fryer Copycat Krispy Kreme Chocolate Glazed Donuts
I was wrong. The first time I made these donuts, I used breadcrumbs – which works well in real “bread”, but it’s not good for donuts. They ended up being a little chewy – good but not perfect. Last night I made it again – this time with a low protein all purpose flour (less protein means less sugar – which gives a softer texture and less chewiness to the flour). After my husband ate the 4th donut (quietly without comment) – I knew this recipe was a winner! Now we can have donuts whenever we want!

1. Make tangzhong into dough. For detailed instructions, see my post on Japanese milk bread (this is the same flour recipe – just use all purpose flour instead of bread flour).
