Macbook Air Retina 2018 Price – Apple recently unveiled its long-awaited updates to two products that haven’t gotten much love lately: the 2018 MacBook Air and the 2018 Mac Mini ( review ). Both machines have been updated with new processors, Apple’s T2 chip, upgraded I/O, and other improvements.

The MacBook Air, however, is the much more popular machine and will get most of the attention between the two. This is the portable Mac that many have been waiting for, but does it live up to its name? Watch our video overview for details.

The Retina display addresses the biggest demand among MacBook Air customers, as it is the last product in Apple’s entire lineup, iOS or Mac, to receive the Retina upgrade. The low-end non-Retina iMac is still here.

The Retina display on the MacBook Air has more than 4 million pixels on the machine’s 13.3-inch screen. The screen has an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, which improves viewing angles compared to the latest generation Air.

The new MacBook Air display also gets a significant color upgrade. Although not technically classified as a wide color display, the 2018 model supports about 50% more colors than previous hardware.

The previous MacBook Air’s display was of the weakest quality, so the display improvements alone make the new model a worthwhile upgrade proposition for existing customers.

Another weak link of the previous MacBook Air was the overly generous bezel. The redesigned model features reduced bezels with edge-to-edge glass that MacBook and MacBook Pro users have enjoyed for years. Glass in particular is a much-needed visual upgrade, as the outgoing car’s aluminum bezel made the screen feel cramped and dated.

Compared to the previous generation MacBook Air, the device with Retina is 0.21 pounds lighter, which is a weight reduction. The new car is also 0.07 inches thinner and its width and depth are reduced by 0.83 inches and 0.58 inches respectively. In other words, it’s a more portable and travel-friendly machine than the previous generation Air, but it still packs the same 13.3-inch screen size.

Sure, the MacBook Air with Retina Display is a larger machine than Apple’s 12-inch flat MacBook in all dimensions. The differences in width and depth between these machines aren’t staggering, but the MacBook Air is also thicker and heavier.

With that in mind, the real “MacBook Air” is the 12-inch MacBook in my opinion. I’ve always thought it deserved the venerable moniker “air” to begin with. Unfortunately, there have been no updates to the 12-inch model in 2018, and its future in Apple’s lineup remains in question.

But here things get funny and a bit ironic. The MacBook Air is actually thicker at its thickest point than the current-generation MacBook Pro. If anything, it speaks to the marketing power of the MacBook Air name.

For the past few years, the MacBook Air has been the budget option when it comes to Apple laptops. The new MacBook Air starts at $1,199, but Apple continues to sell its latest generation model without the Retina display for $999. Fully capable with 16GB of RAM and 1.5TB of SSD storage, the 2018 MacBook Air can cost more than a well-equipped MacBook Pro.

The entry-level MacBook Air with Retina Display has a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of flash storage. Interestingly, the base model 2017 MacBook Pro without Touch Bar, which hasn’t received any recent updates, can be had for just $100 more.

Comparing the 2018 MacBook Air to the 2017 MacBook Pro, you’ll notice some similarities between the two machines:

New Macbook Air Is Thinner, Lighter, And Starts With Much Higher Specs

While the name “Air” is ridiculous because of the thickness of the device, the MacBook Air, at 2.75 pounds, is significantly lighter than the previous Air and MacBook Pro, so it still makes sense. Various factors contribute to the weight difference, including the iconic tapered design.

Despite all the screen improvements and downsizing, Apple rates the new MacBook Air the same as its predecessor when it comes to battery life.

Although the new MacBook Air’s battery is smaller at 50.3 watt-hours compared to 54 watt-hours, the new machine has better battery life. How:

The 2018 MacBook Air has a single processor option, a 1.6GHz dual-core 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor that can turbo up to 3.6GHz and supports Hyper-Threading. It has a 7W Intel i5-8210Y processor with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 617. Compared to previous MacBook Air chips, which were 15W, this processor is designed to use less power. For most people in the market for a MacBook Air, I think the 7W i5 processor is fine and will do everything you need for day-to-day tasks. Word processing, web browsing, and media consumption will work well on the MacBook Air. If you set the right expectations, light video editing and other tasks that normally require more power will be performed well.

No one in the market for a MacBook Air should build its processor or graphics as if it were a desktop, so machines like the 6-core MacBook Pro exist.

Here’s a Geekbench 4 CPU benchmark that compares the new 2018 MacBook Air and last year’s MacBook Pro without the Touch Bar. As you can see, the MacBook Pro outperforms the MacBook Air in both the single and multi-core tests.

The iGPUs on both of these machines are relatively weak, but that’s to be expected. However, the year-old MacBook Pro has an advantage when comparing GPU performance.

Cinebench R15 results paint the same picture. Neither machine is impressive when it comes to graphics performance, but the MacBook Pro is the default winner.

For me, as someone who works with video on a daily basis, Final Cut performance is a big difference. MacBook Pro offers much better Final Cut Pro X performance compared to MacBook Air with Retina Display. Editing video on a MacBook Air is possible, sure, but the experience isn’t as fun as it is on a more powerful machine.

Of course, most people don’t edit videos every day, so you have to decide if this kind of thing is really important to you. For most people, the answer to this question is:

The final benchmark compares PCIe-based SSDs found in two machines. As you can see, the MacBook Pro has a fast SSD in both reading and writing. Both SSDs are 128GB, making them easy to compare. Keep in mind that when you configure a larger SSD, the write speed will improve significantly.

Apple Macbook Air 2018: Release Date, Pricing & More Info

The MacBook Air with Retina display gets Apple’s third-generation butterfly-switch keyboard. The new keyboard features keys that are individually backlit, providing a more consistent feel when typing in low-light settings.

The updated keyboard addresses some of the well-documented issues that plagued previous versions, but there’s still some learning to do for anyone coming directly from a previous MacBook Air.

Next to the keyboard is a separate Touch ID sensor, a biometric technology that allows users to quickly unlock, authenticate with macOS and third-party apps, and make Apple Pay purchases.

The inclusion of Touch ID for the MacBook Air is significant, as it is Apple’s first laptop to include the feature without the expensive and largely useless (in my opinion) Touch Bar found on Apple’s MacBook Pro series. is the

Macbook Air 2018 With 13.3 Inch Retina Display And Touch Id Launched, Price Starts At Rs. 1,14,900

Touch ID in the MacBook Air is made possible by the inclusion of the Apple T2 security chip, the same chip found in the 2018 Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac Pro. This chip performs many functions in terms of security, and also integrates many of the car’s controls into a central location. For more information on the Apple T2 security chip, be sure to read our 2018 Mac Mini review.

Another big addition to the MacBook Air with Retina Display is the 20% larger Force Touch trackpad. The MacBook Air was the last Apple laptop to use the floating trackpad mechanism, so this is another welcome change. The Force Touch trackpad, while not as large as the trackpad found on the MacBook Pro, makes it so that you get exactly the same feedback wherever you press on the surface; This is the best trackpad on any laptop.

The new MacBook Air’s camera is the same 720p FaceTime HD camera found on the previous generation MacBook Air. I wish the camera was 1080p, but at least it’s better than the ridiculously low-resolution 480p camera on the 12-inch MacBook.

The speakers on the 2018 MacBook Air are 25% louder, with twice the bass response of the previous generation. You’ll never mistake the car for a proper stereo, but if you know how limited the previous model’s speakers were, you’ll no doubt appreciate any effort to improve audio fidelity.

There’s also a new three-array microphone, along with better speakers. The microphones are targeted to provide better voice input for FaceTime calls and improve the accuracy of Siri communications.
