Lakers News: Latest On Andre Iguodala Trade Rumors, Dwight Howard And More
When the NBA trade window opens on Nov. 16, teams that haven’t been able to trade for months will begin spinning and trading, which means a flood of Lakers trade rumors as well as every player. joined the team in free agency.
With trade arguably the most viable way for the Lakers to improve their roster, the team has been linked to a number of players before this window opens. As the madness continues, we try to keep up with all the (reputable) news that connects various players to the Lakers. Bookmark this page for updates on what a wild summer it promises to be.
A list of all players linked to the Lakers in free agency can be found on this page. Perhaps the biggest NBA trade rumor of the summer was Kyrie Irving’s potential reunion with LeBron James in LA.
The LA Lakers appear to be interested in making a deal and plan to make a better offer to the Nets.
The Miami Heat Were 60 To 1 Long Shots. Now They’re In The Nba Finals.
Irving and James won a ring with the Cavaliers in 2016, and now the Lakers are looking to reunite them as part of a Big Three with Anthony Davis.
The move would end Irving’s largely disappointing and controversial tenure in Brooklyn, which he joined in 2019 after two years with the Celtics.
However, the franchise looks serious and will soon make the Nets a tempting proposition.
Reports in the US indicate that the Lakers are willing to include two first rounders in the package they are sending to Brooklyn.
Ranking Los Angeles Lakers’ Trade Options Following Patrick Beverley Deal
This has been one of the Nets’ key demands, but the Lakers have so far been reluctant to agree.
The Athletic’s Jovan Buha said the Lakers are now willing to use two first-round picks in their pursuit of Irving.
Anthony Davis has been a key player since arriving in LA and securing a ring in the ‘Ball’.
That said, the Lakers are still committed to AD because there isn’t a better rim protector in the game.
Why Lakers Should Take Lebron James’ All Star Comments Seriously
They also plan to bring him more into the offense next season, which LeBron has.
While Russell Westbrook has had his moments in LA and even played well quite a few times, he hasn’t had the booming success that many had hoped for.
It is believed that Irving fits the point better and connects with the team more quickly.
As a result, LA will likely end up giving the Nets what they want for the controversial point guard who missed multiple games last season due to his vaccinations. The Rundown: Celtics Win After Epic Curry Tatum Showdown
The Los Angeles Lakers will not trade Kyrie Irving. Sean Marks announced via the Brooklyn Nets Twitter account on Tuesday that Kevin Durant and the team will continue their partnership next season.
Los Angeles still needs to trade Russell Westbrook if they want to contend for a title next season. While it’s disappointing that Kyrie won’t be a Laker, at least the team has some clarity and can move forward with other options.
While there are a few different ways the Lakers can go about getting Westbrook off the roster, there is one path that would work best for the team and build a roster good enough to contend for a title.
This is one of Westbrook’s picks and the most talked about. In fact, the Lakers are said to have already offered Westbrook a package and Indiana’s first-round pick, which the Pacers declined.
La Lakers Plan To Up Trade Offer For Irving
The timing of this news was stupid as Kyrie Irving was still on the market at the time. So it seems doubtful that the Lakers made an official offer to Indiana and it was probably more of a conversational offer. Either way, it may take two elections to seal the deal.
While it’s a lot to trade two picks, it would be worth it for the Lakers. Trading Westbrook alone is worth another 6-7 wins next season, and replacing him with two role players in Hield and Turner who fit the lineup well will add another 6-7 wins.
However, the Lakers should not stop there. There are other moves that need to be made that can maximize the talent on this roster and get the team back into contention. We’re not the only ones calling Thursday’s NBA Twitter drama “Huddlegate,” some in Los Angeles are still kicking the dust. Russell Westbrook’s Lakers teammates, past and present, have given their thoughts on the matter.
Recap: After Russell Westbrook had an otherwise uneventful night on the floor in a 118-113 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, video footage of Brodie appearing to avoid two collisions with teammates — one in a pregame ritual — went viral. second third quarter touchdown run by Patrick Beverley. Although the web (including, yes, this web) has been abuzz over the alleged shenanigans, Westbrook had a pretty quiet night on the hardwood. He scored five points on 1-of-3 shooting from the floor and 3-of-6 from the charity stripe, along with five assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Westbrook laughed off the videos when asked about “Huddlegate” during a practice interview with reporters yesterday (copyright pending). “You can edit any video and make it what you want,” he said in part, noting that during his decade in the NBA, he always kept his pregame ritual away from the team and that the second third-quarter video was edited in bad taste .
Now one of his most outspoken teammates, Patrick Beverley, is speaking out about the drama. Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register reports that Beverley claimed yesterday that she was unaware of the footage circulating, specifically the video that shows Westbrook ignoring Beverley’s attempts to cuddle.
Per Goon, Beverley offered her thoughts on their relationship, which definitely doesn’t suggest there’s any kind of chemistry issue, at least on the surface (they’re an odd match in that, but it was always on the way). “Everything is great,” Beverley said of their friendship. “I’m on the plane, he’s right next to me. We’re going on a trip, meet up.” The Los Angeles Lakers acquired guard Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Talen Horton-Tucker and forward Stanley Johnson. , Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka announced today.
“We are excited to add the toughness and competitiveness of Patrick Beverley to our team,” said Pelinka. “We are confident that Patrick’s ‘3-and-D’ style will mesh well with the rest of our roster and will fit perfectly with Coach Ham’s philosophy of hard work and smart play.”
