This creamy poppy seed sauce is tangy and sweet, but without all the extra calories of mayonnaise that would normally be used in a sauce recipe. This version is made with plain non-fat Greek yogurt, which is lower in calories and higher in protein.

Greek Yogurt Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing
You will need a storage container for this sauce. I suggest using a small mason jar or glass crucible with a lid, as shown above.
Any plain (unflavored) yogurt will work in this recipe. If you use regular yogurt, not Greek yogurt, your sauce will be a little thinner. I used Danone Oikos plain Greek yogurt.
A single-serve container is currently about ⅔ cup size. If you don’t want extra yogurt in your refrigerator, choose a single-serve container for this recipe.
Add all of your ingredients to a small bowl or glass measuring cup and whisk until combined and smooth.

Once your sauce is mixed, I suggest you do a taste test. Some find the sauce a bit too spicy for their taste. If this is you, I suggest adding more honey until it tastes good.

Greek Yogurt Salad Dressing
It tastes like ranch dressing. Unlike other creamy salad dressings that call for mayo or sour cream, this recipe uses plain Greek yogurt as the base. All you have to do is stir in a few herbs and spices!
It is low in oil. While most sauce recipes use olive oil as a base, this recipe only calls for 1 tablespoon of oil to thicken it. (This is ideal if you want to serve it as a veggie dip!) Feel free to omit the olive oil if you need an oil-free recipe.
It is full of flavor. When you let this recipe marinate in the fridge for 2 hours, the flavors fully develop and taste better than any store bought ranch dressing!
It is easy to make. This recipe is easiest to assemble when you use dried herbs, as there is no chopping involved. (And it’s super cheap!) However, feel free to triple the amount called for when you have fresh herbs.
Greek Cucumber Yogurt Dip (tzatziki) Recipe
When using dried herbs, you can have most of these on hand! And if you choose to use fresh herbs, be sure to use triple the amount for the same flavor. (For example, 1 tablespoon of dried dill = 1 tablespoon of fresh dill.)
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, parsley, chives, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and mustard. When the sauce cools add a tablespoon of olive oil to help thicken and if necessary add a tablespoon of water to help thin it.
Transfer the creamy Greek yogurt sauce to a covered storage container, and let it chill for at least 2 hours to develop the flavor. It will also thicken slightly when cooled.
Apple cider vinaigrette. This dressing is my go-to for any side salad. It’s a little salty and tangy, and you’ll be licking your salad bowl clean.
