Seidel, who was named the 2014 Michigan Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sports Media Association, also shared the Top 10 honor with longtime columnist Mick McCabe, a two-time Michigan Sportswriter of the Year (2010 and 2020). The “short” genre follows the life of football star Tate Myre, one of four students killed in the Oxford High School shooting in December.

With Jaden Ivey at No. 5 and Jalen Duren at No. 13, the Pistons begin their return to NBA draft night. They weigh in on Sean’s picks, what they saw from the two NBA Summer League players and what to expect from them this season.
The guys then talked about the entire Detroit Pistons roster and how some lineups could fluctuate. Hear what Sean thinks are the biggest holes on the roster and some potential lineups and players that could help fill them. Omari and Sean also predicted the starting frontcourt and backcourt lineups in mid-July.
They close out the episode by discussing Killian Hayes, his current position in the organization, and what the future holds for him (and the rest of the 2020 draft picks) as he enters his third season in the league. It also discusses some of the “other” Pistons in the NBA Summer League and who stood out among them.

The Michigan State Spartans’ athletics programs are ranked No. 11 in CBS Sports’ annual “Best College Sports” rankings.
CBS began featuring “Best College Sports” for NCAA athletic programs in 2013, and Louisville was ranked No. 1 this year. MSU’s rival Michigan Wolverines are among the latest to commit for the 2021-22 school year. Peaked after winning Big Ten titles in football and hockey.
For years, the National Collegiate Athletic Directors Association has ranked programs, giving equal weight to each sport. However, football and basketball are rated higher in the CBS ratings. Each university is ranked by its football team, men’s and women’s basketball teams, two wild card programs, or top two varsity sports, except for the above categories.
Michigan Football’s Opening Romp A Reminder Of Cfb’s Imbalance
For Michigan, the Big Ten-winning football team scored 128 points in men’s basketball, 73 in women’s basketball, 90 in ice hockey and 85 in wrestling for a total of 212 points. After Mel Tucker’s 11-2 Peach Bowl win, MSU was 172.5 in football, 100 in men’s basketball and zero in women’s basketball, 66.75 after last season’s Round of 32 loss to Duke. 32.
It’s unclear what MSU’s wild-card spot was, but the gymnastics program had a great year. Other MSU sports, such as softball, baseball and field hockey, have not been as successful. Looks like wrestling could be a good candidate for the 2nd wild card slot.
Michigan State finished fourth among Big Ten teams (fifth if you count Notre Dame in hockey). Ohio State is ranked third behind Notre Dame. Iowa was ranked 10th, ahead of MSU. Michigan football fans will never forget the rocket duo of Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo.
Or long runs and tackles to bruising tailback Hassan Haskins, who can outrun high-block defenders. Or that Cade McNamara’s game management skills were all about W’s, not stats.
