I visited the conservatory for lunch on a Tuesday and the village center was buzzing with activity. The restaurant is located in one of the front corners of the Village Center, so you can enjoy a great view through the glass walls.

Since I visited in May, I got the autumn menu. It’s a tough choice because they’re all incredible and you want to pick one.
We started with a glass of Nick O’Leary Riesling and after much deliberation we finally decided on our dishes.

Canberra’s mother ordered grilled wild barramundi with leek confit, white sweet potatoes, cilantro and leek juice and plucked carrots. The fish was well cooked and the flavors complemented each other perfectly.

We stayed local with wine and enjoyed the 2016 Four Winds Sangiovese for our main course.
Again, this is a difficult choice. Poached Dolphins, Pistachio Sponge, and Crystallized Pistachios finally shrunk in size when combined with Hibiscus Her Tea Her Custard. This is also a beautiful dish that looks delicious. The crème brûlée rocks invitingly, with the tartness of the rhubarb breaking out the sweetness of the crème brûlée and the pistachios adding texture.
I was lucky enough to try a giant Ferrero Rocher his chocolate his parfait with pralines, salted caramel, crushed raspberries and gold leaf. It wasn’t on the menu when we visited, but it was added to the menu shortly after our visit just in case. I’ve been following it for a while and it was on the previous menu so the kitchen team gave it a try – it tastes as decadent as it looks.
There are no dietary restrictions, but appetizers and creme brulee are gluten-free. Other gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are also available, making it ideal for all diets.

The only downside is that it’s not open for dinner, but it’s a great excuse to enjoy a delicious lunch. If you choose the 3-course option, dinner may not be required.
