Reasons We Love Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion

At the base of the Mayan pyramid lies one of Epcot’s finest Mexican restaurants: the San Angel Inn Restaurante. The real highlight of this restaurant is the atmosphere. Located at the base of a replica of a Mayan pyramid, there are Mexican tiled floors, stucco walls, a stunning Mexican sunset mural, and boats passing by from the La Gran Fiesta Tour. It feels as if you have been transported across the border into Mexico.

As for food, there is a wide variety of traditional Mexican food available at the San Angel Inn. Chili relleno, mole poblano, puerco en salsa verde all find their place on the menu. The San Angel Inn Restaurante also offers several specialty drinks and margaritas, including Café de Oaxaca, Piña Loca, and San Angel Inn Margarita. Vegan/vegetarian menu available upon request.

If you’re hoping to get a table at the San Angel Inn Restaurante, be aware that it can be very difficult to get a reservation, so be sure to make reservations well in advance. There are no walk-in or walk-up reservations.

As a quick note, be aware that the bathrooms in this restaurant are usually quite crowded. If you’re on a Disney Meal Plan, this is a great way to use up your credits!

A Foodie’s Paradise: The Best Epcot Restaurants And Food Stops

La Hacienda de San Angel is one of the best restaurants in all of Epcot, not just Epcot Mexico Pavilion. For starters, you’ll get free chips and salsa while you wait for your order to come out, which is a rarity at Disney. With popular dishes like costillas en salsa de chile (braised short ribs), tacos de camarones (shrimp tacos) and queso fundido, you can’t go wrong with anything. Don’t forget to top off your meal with a delicious empanada de manzana (caramel apple empanada) or chocolate volcan de (chocolate lava cake). There is also a vegan menu on request.

La Hacienda de San Angel also has some of the best views in Epcot. Located right next to the World Showcase Lagoon, this restaurant offers views of the lake and other international pavilions. If you eat too late, this is also a great place to catch Epcot’s evening show, Illumination: Reflections of the Earth. No matter what time you choose to eat, be sure to ask for a table by the window for the best views! It also makes our list of the best restaurants at Disney and it takes into account all the dining options from across the park.

Because of all this beautiful attraction of La Hacienda de San Angel, this restaurant is very popular. Be sure to make a reservation in advance if you wish to dine at this lovely Epcot Mexican restaurant. If you forget to pre-book, you may be able to get a walk-up seat for the day of your visit if you check in early enough, but this is very rare.

If you are looking for a Fast Service Epcot restaurant, La Cantina de San Angel is the right choice for you! This fast food restaurant and seating area is also located on the edge of the World’s Fair Lagoon, making for some epic sights, including IlumiNations. Chips and guacamole, empanadas con queso, and churros are everyone’s favourites.

Disney World Epcot Guide — Everything You Need To Know

If you want a good drink or two, La Cava del Tequila is the place to be. La Cava del Tequila’s goal is to celebrate Mexico’s tequila-making heritage and tradition through the creation of exceptional tequila-based drinks, and they definitely fulfill that mission!

Try their tequila blanco, tequila reposado or tequila añejo. If you can’t decide, opt for one of their tequila flights. Or if you want to splurge on their signature margarita, opt for the incredible avocado margarita, complete with fresh avocado, tequila, watermelon liqueur, and a rim of hibiscus salt. To complement these delicious drinks, La Cava del Tequila also sells several appetizers, such as chips and salsa, queso, and guacamole.

The La Gran Fiesta Tour ride is the only trip on Epcot Mexico. This boat trip, starring The Three Caballeros, takes riders along the Rio Grande past some of Mexico’s most famous tourist attractions, such as Mexico City, Acapulco and Chichen Itza. As this is one of Epcot’s quieter rides, it is very child friendly and has no height requirements.

Due to Disney’s Epcot international theme, you can feel as if you have traveled the world without leaving Orlando! You can also shop for souvenirs, such as clothes, crafts, and food. The first souvenir most people think of when they think of Mexico is a sombrero, but there are also embroidered dresses, wood carving Dia de los Muertos, and even hot habanero sauce.

The Best And Worst Restaurants Of Epcot’s World Showcase

These groceries are available at Plaza de Los Amigos, Artesanias La Familia Fashions, El Ranchito del Norte, as well as various cart vendors around the Epcot Mexico Pavilion.

For young children, the World’s Fair is not the most exciting part of Disney. To encourage children to learn more about the different countries in the exhibit, Disney started Kidcot. Every country in the world displays a Kidcot stop with a card with information about the country on one side and a picture to color on the other. For the Mexican Pavilion, an image depicts Donald Duck about to hit the pinata as Huey, Dewey and Louie all watch excitedly. At each Kidcot station, there are sharpies for the kids to color. Children also receive country-themed stickers during their visit to each Kidcot station.

Check out the things you need to bring for your trip to Disney World!! A trip to Disney can be a much smoother experience if you just add a few things to your bag to pack!! Check out some of our favorites below.

A Popular Mexican Fine Dining Restaurant Is Coming To Disney World

#1. Good Quality Walking Shoes. Quality walking shoes are a MUST for Disney! And I highly recommend my favorite SandalVionicFarra. I really can’t tell you how much I LOVE these sandals! I originally bought them for a trip to India where I wore them every day for 2 weeks, but they quickly became my shoe of choice for Disney! I’ll even come back to buy a second pair in the same color if Vionics stops making them! Vionics is my favorite brand for Disney because it’s supportive, affordable, and perfect for Disney in the Florida summer!

#2. Rugged backpack.OutdoorMaster Sling Our favorite functional backpack for Disney! If you’ve never used a sling bag, you haven’t lived! [Just kidding but you’ll love it.] The sling backpack for Disney will change your life! It doesn’t hurt your back like a traditional backpack and leaves one shoulder completely free.

#3. Multiple Memory Cards. If you have a camera on your Disney packing list, you’ll also want to add an extra memory card to your list of things to bring for Disney. Unless you pack your computer for Disney, you won’t be able to upload photos and free your existing memory card. Buying an extra memory card costs under $20 and doesn’t take up much space in your luggage when packing for Disney.

#4. Reusable Water Bottles. If you don’t want to pay for water every time you go out to eat or it gets hot while you’re at Disney, just bring a reusable water bottle and drink while you eat. Water in the park costs a lot of money so bring your own bottle and fill it around
