Best Food Nusa Dua Bali – Wherever I travel, I like to learn the local cuisine and it should be an important part of any Bali trip no matter how long we stay. When we came to Bali, I was very excited because I love Indonesian food. We’re staying in the more touristy Nusa Dua area, but I’m determined to find some great Indonesian food – go to Pasar Senggol!

Located at Grand Hyatt Bali, Pasar Senggol is their signature Indonesian restaurant. The restaurant is located in the heart of the hotel’s shopping village and there are local shops outside where you can buy local goods and souvenirs from the night market. The restaurant is a splendid outdoor market with a variety of food courts, including live cooking zones and celebrations of Balinese culture.

The food at Pasar Senggol is outstanding. Placements at the terminals include live cooking zones, mostly equivalent to salads, curries, satay and desserts.

But perhaps my favorite of all the stations is the biscuit station. I didn’t realize there were so many types of crackers (only really familiar with shrimp), and so many condiments to go with them. I have to admit that I was a bit crazy at this station!

The curries at Pasar Senggol are delicious and varied in taste and spice levels, meaning there is something for everyone. The curries are unique but with influences from all over Asia.

However, my favorite dishes on offer are satay and of course the actual Indonesian national dish – Nasi Goreng, which is excellent!

Dessert stations have a lot of variety, but I have to admit I didn’t have much room after literally sampling the entire cooking zone. However, I really appreciated the variety of local fruits on offer. While my young daughter enjoyed the available ice creams.

The evening ended with a classical Balinese show. Our show has traditional Balinese story with respective dancers. The dance we watched was the Ramayana dance. This is a ballet depicting the victory of good over evil, revolving around Rama and his wife Sita, a classic Hindu story. While we enjoyed the show, it’s probably a bit far for the little ones, but it’s nice to get in touch with at least some of the traditional Balinese culture, especially when you’re in a crowded place than.

We enjoyed our evening at Pasar Senggol and although it was a more expensive meal it would have been well worth the money given the variety and quality of the food options and facilities. meeting to learn more about Balinese culture. I used to think that good Balinese food could only be found in cafes, but a recent trip made me realize that there’s so much more to it than just cafe food. Originally located in Ubud, Naughty Nuri’s has also opened a second more worthy branch in Seminyak, but if you want a more authentic feel, head to the branch in Ubud! Prices in Seminyak are more expensive, but they have bigger pork chops.
