American Idol Show End

20:00. – Macklemore kicks off tonight’s fun finale with a performance of “Can’t Hold Us,” featuring three finalists. As the songs say, “tonight is the night” and one of them is set to be the next “American Idol”. Let’s go!

Lady K Sings “how Far I’ll Go” On American Idol Top 10

20:10 — The judges enter the building and dress for the event. The contest begins and the voting is open as Grace takes the stage to sing “All By Myself”. He sounds a little nervous in the opening chorus, which is understandable. He settles in quickly, but the verses feel rushed to get to the climax he’s been honing. Katy’s jaw dropped before she said, “You didn’t get any higher than Celine!” Katy says that Celine Dion’s song made her want to be a singer, so she chose Grace to sing it tonight. Lionel says that only Grace can compose another song with quality and the young singer is a storyteller.

8:15 p.m. – Next up is Willie singing “Georgia on My Mind.” Her velvety vocals grace this song and I especially love the chorus where she lifts it up. I think she does a better job than Grace of singing a song from beginning to end without glossing over the lines somehow. Luke smells “magnolias” after this performance and says that Willie has done the whole show since his first audition. Lionel calls it a “religious experience”. Katy says “the sky’s the limit” for Willie.

20:25 — Chayce is the last to sing, singing “Blackbird.” Great selection of songs from the judges. His soulful vocals sound great on this song and I think this performance is more like watching an established artist than a vocal competition. He’s no Grace or Willie singer, but this man has stage power and star power. Lionel says Chayce has a visual voice and a “bad voice for life”. Katy says they chose this song because it is small but powerful. Luke invites Chayce on a fishing trip. #bromance

20:40 — The second round of the competition will be dedicated to the home town. Grace visited her family in the Chicago area as well as a trip to her high school and a show. His dedication song is “I have nothing”, beginning acapella. Passing his first Celine and then Whitney Houston is a lot of pressure. Not only do I feel the spirit of this song, but I’m rarely impressed when someone tries to cover a Whitney song. It is an untouchable standard. Maybe I’m impressed, but the judges seem impressed. Katy says Grace sang deeply and begged viewers to vote. Luke wanted to stand on the table because the proper shoulder seemed inadequate. Lionel credits Grace with taking Whitney’s song up two octaves.

American Idol’ Finale 2022: Finalists Noah Thompson, Huntergirl And Leah Marlene Belt It Out In Last Performances

20:50 — Willie took a trip back to his hometown of Douglas, Georgia. It’s a small town that some Willie loves! Throughout the history of “Idol,” we’ve seen contestants from these small southern towns, so it’s no surprise that it did so well. His meeting with his mother touched his heart, especially when she fell into his arms and cried. His devotional song is “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. He sings with confidence, authority and conviction and this was another great Willie song. The judges didn’t come up with anything new that hadn’t been said yet.

9:05 PM – Chayce returns to Apple Valley and is dropped off at his old limo job. He left Hollywood! But his colleagues who use the forklift seem to be proud of him. He also has an emotional bond with his family, but I love seeing his dog the most! He sings “Fire Away” by Chris Stapleton, which is perfect for me. It matches his voice and demeanor, but to me it wasn’t as good as his first round. Katy says God turned up the volume on her life to make sure Chayce was listening.

9:15 PM – Country star Mickey Guyton is joined by Alyssa Wray on Mickey’s Grammy-nominated song “Black Like Me.” Powerful song and excellent performance. Afterwards, Ryan calls the finalists on stage to announce the third runner-up. Dim the lights! In third place is singer Grace. The judges look stunned, but this result does not surprise me. Willie or Chayce will be the next “American Idol”!

9:25 PM — Fall Out Boy sings “My Songs Know What You Did” as a special vocal.
